On Saturday 22 August 2026, the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 will host a Medical Symposium at La Sucrerie in Wavre. The symposium will bring together physicians, physiotherapists, sports scientists, coaches and other professionals for an inspiring day focused on athlete health, performance optimisation and innovation in sports medicine.
The programme features presentations by renowned national and international experts. Prof. Dr. Udo Rolle, Chair of the FIH Health & Safety Committee, will share his insights on health and safety in international hockey. Other speakers include Professor Jan Boone (Ghent University), sports and performance psychologist Ellen Schouppe, and Professor François Delvaux (University of Liège), who will address topics such as performing in hot conditions, developing a high-performance mindset and injury prevention in hockey.
The Medical Symposium offers participants not only access to the latest scientific insights, but also the opportunity to exchange experiences and expand their network within the international hockey and sports medicine community.
