Transport and mobility

The matches of the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 in Belgium will take place at the Belfius Hockey Arena in Wavre. The preferred way to reach the venue is by public transport or via the free shuttle service from one of the official tournament car parks (paid parking).
 
During match days, the immediate area surrounding the stadium will be closed to motorised traffic. Only pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles with a special permit will be allowed access.
There is no parking available around the stadium.
 
The area surrounding the stadium is fully pedestrianised and only accessible to residents and service vehicles. Two public car parks are available in pre-sale.
 
Parking is only available by reservation.
Please make sure to purchase your parking ticket in advance.

For people with reduced mobility, the following parking is available:
 
 
Follow your route via Waze or Google Maps and respect the on-site signage as well as the instructions from the stewards. Additional signage will be provided along the motorway to guide you to the car parks.
 
After parking your vehicle, a free shuttle service, upon presentation of your parking ticket, will take you from the car parks to the stadium before the start of the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 and bring you back to your vehicle afterwards.
 
There is a €15 parking fee per vehicle (excl. service fee).

Looking to avoid traffic on match days? Hop on your bicycle! A bike parking area is available near the stadium, with dedicated signage to ensure a safe journey.

Cycling is highly recommended if you are staying in the surrounding areas (Wavre, LLN, Rixensart…).

Charging electric bikes is not possible at the parking area.

Attention: bicycles parked outside the designated areas will be moved to the official bicycle parking.

Travelling by train is the preferred option to reach the stadium. The nearest station is Wavre, approximately 1.5 km / 15 minutes on foot from the stadium. Dedicated pedestrian signage will be set up between Wavre station and the stadium.

Weekdays

  • To Wavre: regular services from 05:34 until 19:55.
  • From Wavre (from 20:00 onwards): frequent departures to Ottignies, Leuven and Charleroi-Central (via IC24 services) until 23:20.


Weekends and public holidays

  • To Wavre: services from 05:39 until 16:51.
  • From Wavre (from 17:00 onwards): regular departures approximately every 20 to 30 minutes until 23:20.

Please note: your event ticket is not valid as a train ticket.

A few TEC bus stops are located within walking distance of the Belfius Hockey Arena:

  • Express bus lines E6, E11, E12, E13 connect LLN, Gembloux, Kraainem, or Hermann-Debroux to Wavre
  • Last departures between 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM, with very limited service on weekends

Yes, PRM/PWD parking spaces are available at the SOUTH Parking. A parking ticket is required to access them.

Your PRM /PWD card does not provide access to areas near the stadium

Belgium’s two airports offer convenient access to Wavre:


From both airports, you can easily continue your journey by train to Wavre Station.

The train station at Brussels Airport (BRU) is located at level -1 of the airport terminal. At Brussels South Airport (CRL) take bus line A to the train station of Charleroi-Sud.
